I was born in the small town of Mauston, Wisconsin, and raised on a farm just outside of town. I was blessed with wonderful, loving Christian parents. I attended an excellent public school, went on to study at St. Olaf College and Luther Seminary, and eventually served as a pastor in three different parishes. Perhaps more importantly, I’ve always been deeply concerned about world hunger. I’ve spent years focusing on change, and I’ve enjoyed writing ever since my mom told me I was good at it. My dad was one of the most thankful people I’ve ever known.
